RICA has facilities for the conduct of three courses simultaneously. The Training Block has two well equipped Seminar Halls and one Classroom with inter-active board etc
The Computer centre has facilities for training twenty participants at a time in the Correctional Home Management Software developed by NIC for use in the Correctional Homes of West Bengal as well as COSA – software for financial management. The State Government has sanctioned addition of a first floor where there will be a Auditorium, a computer laboratory and a Museum for exhibiting important items of historic value.

The Outdoor training facilities includes a play ground with an obstacle course and a well equipped gymnasium. The work for an Outdoor Training hall  with facilities for conduct of Unarmed Combat, Weapon Training, Yoga and indoor demonstrations is soon to start and likely to be completed by the end of the year.

The Library of the RICA has been renovated with facilities for a separate Reading Room and reference Section from the grants made by the State Government during the financial year 2011-12.  The Library has now has a Reading and reference Room which is air conditioned. Ten computers with internet facility have been provided in the Reference Section. This section also has all the Cases reported in the Supreme Court and High Courts from 1950 to 2011 in software purchased from All India Reporter.  Efforts are on to collect Research papers on various aspects of Correctional Management from the Bureau of Police Research Development and other organization which can be used by the participants attending various courses in RICA as well as those who are interested in conducting Research on any aspect of Correctional Management.
The Audio Visual Library has a good collection of films on Correctional Management. It is now proposed to get some films on Management and connected subjects.

RICA has a well-equipped Computer Laboratory with local area Network. RICA with the assistance of National Informatics conducted a number of Computer Courses for the Correctional Officers on the software development for the Correctional Homes. The Courses provided an opportunity for the Correctional Officers to discuss the modalities for improving the software developed by the NIC.


RICA has facilities for the conduct of Outdoor training for the participants attending Basic and the Induction Course in which training in Drill, Physical Training, Weapon Training, Unarmed combat imparted to the participants. They are made aware of different weapons that are in the store of the Correctional Homes.  Unarmed Combat and Yoga also forms part of the Outdoor training.. Facilities for games are available and participants attending Basic and Induction courses have to play games, as part of the training.

RICA has a well-equipped Gymnasium with modern Gymnasium equipment for use by the participants.

 An Outdoor Training Hall is in the final stages of completion at the RICA. The Outdoor Training Hall will be used for training in Unarmed Combat, Physical Training, Weapon Training, Yoga and other outdoor subjects, particularly in the summer months. The Outdoor Training Hall will have Badminton Court, a Gymnasium, Changing Room for participants etc.

The Officers’ Mess of the Regional Institute of Correctional Administration was inaugurated by Shri Sankar Chakraborty, Minister in Charge, department of Correctional Administration on 1st May, 2012.The Officers’ Mess has accommodation for twenty three officers and meet s the long felt need for such a facility at the Regional Institute of Correctional Administration. There is a comfortable lounge with TV, Music and other facilities.
