David Goggins

Childhood

On February 17, 1975, David Goggins was born, in Williamsville, New York City. His mother’s name is Trunis Goggins and his father’s name is Jackie Goggins. Goggins lived in Williamsville, a small city in New York with his parents and younger brother Trunice Jr. When he was six years old, Goggins worked with his family at his father’s skate rink. Goggins and his other family members suffered constant and severe abuse from her father before she ran away from him with his mother,
as he recounts in his great book Can’t Hurt Me.

Education

David Goggins suffered from racism in his childhood because he was only an African American boy in his school. David completed his education at the U.S. Army Ranger School.

Military Career

When he was 19 years old, he joined the American Air Force. Where he served for 24 years as a U.S. airforce officer. But after some years for a reason, he was fired from his job. Before joining as a navy officer David served as a pest control fumigator.

After left airforce career, David’s life took another great turn, for which he left the U.S. military and kept his life as a normal person. During this time, he joined a simple job. From this job, he earned a monthly salary of only 1000 u.s. dollars.

But as he leads his life as a normal person. So, his lifestyle becomes mannerless. he eats fast food every day. Here his weight increased to 136 kgs. Every day he went to the office at 11 p.m and left the office at 7 a.m.In 2001, after three attempts due to his big leg and shoulder injuries, David get his graduation degree from the BUD/S Training Institute. But one day after coming into his house he watch that he was called “NAVY SEALs” on TV. After 6 months of hard training, he received the honorable post, of NEC 5326 as a SEAL. During his hard training, he gets a great physique.

He served the valuable 20 years of his life in the U.S. Military. In this period he fought in Iraq and Afghanistan wars as an army for his motherland. He graduated from the U.S. Army Ranger School in 2004. In this same year, he achieved the “Enlisted Honor Man” award from the U.S. national army.

Sports Career

He participated in the 2006 Badwater Ultramarathon event. In this competition, he ran a total of 101 miles in just 19 hours and 6 minutes. This year he won the Las Vegas Marathon for this he qualified for the Boston Marathon. David participated in the 2006 Hawaii Hurt-100 marathon. David was invited as a great athlete in the 2006 Badwater-135. In this competition, he finished in the 5th rank overall.

After three months, he competed in the Hawaii Ultraman World Championships Triathlon. In this competition, he earned the 2nd overall position. He also competed in a famous cycling race known as Furnace Creek-508 (2009). In 2007 David earned overall 3rd place in the Badwater-135. Over the next two years, he participated in 14 marathon competitions. Among these 14 competitions, he achieved the overall top 5 places in 9 of them.

He achieved the honorable award of “Hero of Running” by Runner’s World. In 2016 he won the Infinitus 88k. He finished this competition in just 12 hours. It is a world record. In the same year, he was also crowned as Music City Ultra 50k and Strolling Jim 40 Miler.

Charity

In the Afghanistan war(2005), many of David’s army colleagues died during Operation Red Wings. After this incident, he felt very bad for his friend’s families. After some days he started a foundation named Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Under David’s guidance, this foundation gives college scholarships to all dead soldiers’ children. He won the Badwater Ultramarathon three times and the total prize money he donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
